The Cover

I wanted the cover to be a close-up of the Supreme Leader without his helmet. It emphasizes his humanity and his struggle as an extremely talented and gifted man in a sea of mediocrity. At first, Kylo was against the idea of using this picture, preferring instead an official portrait. After I indicated that this cover would be distributed throughout the galaxy and be seen by all, from dignitaries in cosmopolitan cities such as Coruscant, to backwater places of Jakku where attractive female scavengers are known to reside, he relented and allowed me to use this holoscan portrait.

It was hard to pick from a sea of effusive praise the ones that would go on the back cover. My editor and I finally settled on these three that we felt represented a breadth and depth of Kylo Ren’s most devoted and knowledgeable fans. My editor’s intern did briefly suggest that I condense the section “About the Author,” but for some reason retracted his suggestion after I accidentally discharged my F-11D blaster rifle inches from his face.

It was difficult to condense the Supreme Leader’s life into nine glorious chapters. The original manuscript had sixty-six.

It is important to educate them in the ways of discipline, organization, and commitment from an early age, lest they go astray and murder their own parents/spouses/siblings/classmates in the future.
